This reminds of a saying from the Lisp community:
Any sufficiently large and useful C or Fortran program has a
[poor] Lisp interpreter inside of it.
But seriously, if your equations are simple and bounded, I think
Benedikt's suggestion wouldn't be too hard to get working.
Otherwise, consider using an interpreter library in your simulation.
