http://wiki.swftools.org/index.php/How_do_I_create_a_AVM2_compatible_SWF%3F

And doing that does not necessarily create a compatible AWM2 swf. More of
a hash job, much changing the signature byte.

As I think you discovered, AS 1/2 and 3 are incompatible, the only common
ground as I understand it being the implementation of LocalConnection; the
reason why many try to use that to implement communication between the three
types.

What it boils down to really though, is that in his/her eagerness the flip
forgot to be lenient! ;o)

( gets on soap box )..

On a side note, am I really the only one who finds these page-flip engines,
clever as they may sometimes be, irritating, annoying, and distracting? When
comes the day ( as it surely must ), that we can 'hold' in our hands a virtual
holographic book, one that can be given the look and feel of a
proper book, with ( iof wanted ) a realistic page turn option, then and only
then might I just use it. Till then, save the mock 3D effects people. It
ain't cool, it's just silly. ;o)

BTW, same goes for all those sales gimmicky 'flick' effects on PDAs and
other mobile devices.

( gets off soap box )..
