Hi,

I'm attempting to get a particular APT repo to have a higher priority than
all other repos listed in sources.list; I've accomplished this with:

Package: *
Pin: release o=lnxi.com,c=hiper
Pin-Priority: 1001

'apt-cache policy' verifies this to be working. My question is why
doesn't Synaptic list package availability according to the repository
with a higher priority?

> apt-cache showpkg pvm
Package: pvm
Versions:
3.4.4-11(/var/state/apt/lists/ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de_apt_redhat_phoebe_en_i386_base_pkglist.beta)
3.4.4-3lnxi(/var/state/apt/lists/mojo_redhat_7.3_en_i386_base_pkglist.hiper)

Synaptic lists pvm 3.4.4-11 in its display even though the underlying apt
configuration (and apt-get) acknowledges pvm 3.4.4-3lnxi to be the version
that will be installed.

Thanks.
Mike
