Nope, everybody who's weighed in seemed to think it made sense, but
since this a language-level new thing, I didn't want to put too much
work on it before you'd said whether you object or not...

Yes, indeed -- the patch needs a lot of work before it's production
ready, but since you seem kinda not-negative :-) towards it, I think
I'll create a branch and finish the implementation.
