No problem. People needing a library will probably be able to compile it themselves. "Normal" users will most probably only use the lzip executable.
I tend to forget how strict GPL is with copyright assignments.
It is not about copyright assignment; you own the copyright of your changes. The GPL requires that modified versions be marked as changed, so that their problems will not be attributed erroneously to authors of previous versions.
Should I resend the patches and the source tarball?
I suppose a single unified diff file containig all the changes and including at the beginning a comment about who did the modifications will suffice. Please send it to my private address. There is no need to spam the list with repeated patches.
