Follow-up Comment #26, bug #45659 (project octave): Sorry about the duplicate text in my last comment, I did some cut and paste and failed to remove the copied text. For Matlab compatibility we just need the release date, correct? In that case, I think we should not put the build date and time in a source file. I don't think that matters to users. Developers who want to know the build time can look at timestamps in their build tree and compare checksums of installed files with the ones in the build tree to know whether they are the same.
