I think you're right. It's only when I joined this list that I even
discovered that there was an alternative.

This is, of course, what GNUstep.org *tells you to do*:

I do not understand this sentence.

Has anyone tried pointing the Debian package managers at Philippe's
packages, or a fresher source?
