I assume you mean, "local profile management system such as makes up one
component of FrePort" and not "local Profile Management system like
Freport"? Freport is not a local Profile Management system. FrePort
supports Local and Remote Profile management simultaneously. FrePort can
operate in both local and remote modes or even mix the two modes.

The difference between FrePort in remote mode and ID-sec in remote mode
is that FrePort explicitely protects the data and transactional metadata
*equally well* with *equal convenience* and with *equal privacy* in
either remote, or local, or mixed local remote configurations. One
chooses the configuration desired based on one's personal concerns for
privacy. (In point of fact, the Owner of the data can *choose* to have
their metadata and data mined, but this is their choice and cannot be
done by the Remote PM Provider without the Owner's consent; and the
yes/no consent is enforced by the technology.)
