Hello all,
The savannah download area is back in action, and I am going to upload
the font tarballs very soon.
I had to do a scurity audit (basically md5 checking) on the files before
uploading them - and also decided to do a "origins" audit on the fonts -
so that we can be ready with documents when Redhat or any other distro
vendor asks for the details on the fonts they are going to include. Here
are the results:

#######################################################################

Akaash
-------
Glyph Origin: Traced out from the *.mf files developed by Prof. Palash
Baran Pal as a part of the BangTex package.
OTF Tables Origin: Done by Sayamindu Dasgupta (by VOLT and later by
PFAEDIT)
Relevant Sites: http://tnp.saha.ernet.in/~pbpal/bangtex/bangtex.html

*************************************************************************

Ani
---
Glyph Origin: Created by Dr Anirban Mitra
OTF Tables Origin: Created by Dr Anirban Mitra with VOLT
Relevant Sites: N/A

*************************************************************************

Likhan:
Glyph Origin: Created by Deepayan Sarkar
OTF Tables Origin: Created by Deepayan Sarkar with VOLT as well as by
Pfaedit
Relevant Sites: N/A

*************************************************************************

Mukti
-----
Glyph Origin: Created by M/S Cyberscape Multimedia Limited, Mumbai
(Later GPL'ed and released by FSF India)
OTF Tables Origin: Created by Dr Anirban Mitra using VOLT
Relevant Sites: http://www.gnu.org.in/software/software.html

*************************************************************************

Sagar
-----

Glyph Origin: Donated by Omi Azad. However, it is markedly similar to a
certain commercial font prevelant in Bangladesh, the only difference is
in the number of glyphs. The Free Bangla Font project henceforth decides
to remove the font from the site and the download area. Mr Azad is given
seven days to state his position in the public mailing list - after that
time frame, the decision of the project coordinator will be taken to be
final.
