That's not what John was talking about -- your proposal of
splitting doc commits would lead to the English docs being broken
"in between" those splits.

It would be nice if we had a dedicated translation translator, pun
intended.  Somebody who would merge changes from master into
lilypond/translation, and merge changes from lilypond/translation
back into master.

I think it would be about 1 hour a week.

Look, the problem is that you don't have enough technical people
working on the translation infrastructure.  You guys have been
coasting and relying on John to do it all; he's too busy for that.
I'm not going to pick up this slack; I have enough tasks already.
And I'm not going to put more of a burden on the main
documentation people, since they're already far overworked.


If the translations are important, somebody will step forward to
help with this technical task.  If nobody volunteers, then
obviously they're *not* important.  Just like most other parts of
lilypond... almost nobody is volunteering to work on the docs.
Almost nobody is volunteering to work on the build system.  Almost
nobody is volunteering to work on the regression bugs.

Problems for the translations are the *least* of my concerns.
Sorry, but that's just how things are in lilypond at the moment.
