E.g. I am currently writing code to manage rhythms and separate out or melt together e.g. chords, markups or articulations in Frescobaldi, it would break badly when a duration after 'R' (or s or \skip or whatever) suddenly is not a duration anymore! And there would not be a way to fix it.
