I still cannot compile Boost. I do know for sure that the version number
that is used in Boost's mingw paths comes from the linux compiler in
usage (I tried muliple compilers).

Looking at the logs, there are some differences, mainly about packages
as lex/flex/yak/awk etc. I do not think that they are the cause thought.

What is the exact compiler you used in your VM? Could you send me the
output of you mingw crosscompiler "gcc -dumpspecs" ?
