Obviously the MSYS environment is not posixish enough ...

I am using gcc-3.2-3, let's see if this also works.
The configure stage passed - I'll run the build overnight when my
computer is not blocked by the one sitting in front :)

If gcc-3.2 does not work I'll try with the 3.3.3-3 version.
