So is this the prebuilt version that comes with the .dmg, or did you build 
it from source?

If you build from source, you have to do a "make install" to get 
exrdisplay to work.  There's a post-process step that happens during "make 
install" which adds a resource fork to the exrdisplay application.  In 
previous releases, it wasn't doing that, and you'd end up with the "dead" 
window that you can't focus.  (Alternatively, instead of running "make 
install" you can probably run "fltk-config --post exrdisplay", since 
that's all the make install does.)

If you're using the version that came with the .dmg, exrdisplay should 
already have a resource fork.  When I tested the .dmg on my system, it 
worked OK and I was able to give it focus.  If that's the case, there 
might be something else going on.


We (ILM) would like to standardize the header variables, but nobody here
has had much time to spend on that since the public release in January.  
This is probably something the OpenEXR community can get together to do.  
If you want to start an RFC or something like that, it would be welcome ;)
