Just a short notice semirelated to rdiff-backup:

There seems to be a problem with Redhat (RH8) when smbmounting
a Windows-share which contains files larger than 2GB. The smbfs.o
driver does not support filesizes over 2GB.

To fix the problem you are forced to get or compile a kernel
with the LFS-support-patch added to smbfs by Urban Widmark,
