Nice, the ansol website: could you, if you have time, make me a short note about situation of public adminsitration in portugal? I'd like to say 'in portugal they do this and that'. Tell me more about things already been accepted than things that are not still accepted, and if you can, the contacts of somebody cooperative of inside the administration (colleagues like to listen to colleagues).

For your propositions: they are ok, but keep in eye that my aim is to invite programmers and non-computer people (directors) to look for and put various software parcels on a website. I think that several project as you suggest would be too complicated for my people, and that they won't use it.

So: would it be possible that the several projects that you suggest have a same presentation page, like a Directory? (like 'public adm' > project 1, project 2..., with a 1-page presentation in public adm)

I thought not necessiraly something as http://www.gnu.org/directory/; The only important thing for me is that I give them a single URl (for exemple http://savannah.gnu.org/pa, or really ideally http://pa.gnu.org, and they see all the material and can publish it easily.

I think that we have different but compatible requisities.

Let me know;

it's not easy to discuss and find solutions by email: due to the short time, I'd prefer to discuss it by phone. give me your phone, and I'll call you, or use mine: for today and Sunday: 0033 6 87 56 29 53, and 0039 329 2903 967 for Monday and forward.

But it would be a kind of software documentation project. The content
 would be, for example:
 - a few specific softwares useful for public administration, as
cemetary concessions or fine management, or specific kinds of

 - a few documentation about that software (which would be a bit more
 detailed, but normal documentation)

 Let me know.

Hi Raphael,
that sounds OK. Please register independent projects then. For example, you
could register 3 projects:

PROJECT 1
project name: cemetary
Description: this software can be used for cemetary consessions and it
has been specifically oriented to the needs of public administrations. It uses
the "necromancy" libraries, which are Free Software
(www.necromancy.twilight.zone) etc. etc.

PROJECT 2
project name: fine-management
Description: this package is an implementation of the world-acclaimed,
award-wining, algorithm "Fine Management"......

PROJECT 3
project name: savdoc-pubadmin
Description: This project aims at creating documentation for Savannah. The
documentation will be specifically oriented to tell public administrations
around the world how to use Savannah to search for existing projects that they
can use, register there own projects or collaborate with on-going projects;
other groups might find this documentation useful too.
We will cover everything, from licensing issues to advantages of free software
in the public administration. Most of the documentation is in Italian, but a
group of volunteers is helping us translate it into other languages.

If new projects appear, we prefer that they are registered separately. We
prefer to deal with several small projects rather than with collections of
software (through PROJECT 3 you can help your audience how to do their own
registration in Savannah).

Cheers,

Jaime
(who is also trying to convince the Portuguese public administration to use
and produce only Free Software; see www.ansol.org)
