IRIX and libffi problems (still!)

I'm still having a problem getting libffi installed on irix-- how do 
I set the compiler to be gcc IN IRIX 6.5, and what is the o32/n32 
thing mean?  It keeps giving me the "don't know how to make o32.low 
(bu42)."  Thanks!
