Thanks, Alex and Riolo. I use RH Linux 7.3 with GIMP built within, and I 
selected Gnome while i was installing Linux. What I did was to type gimp at 
the shell, and then was asked to configure the settings such as dpi and 
installation folder, and then it was done. I found GIMP is very good at 
grabbing windows in the screen into its edit area, saving into whatever 
format I want (say JPEG and BMP), and editing them. It is a little like 
photoshop in Windows.
