Follow-up Comment #3, bug #43207 (project octave):
How is this supposed to work then?
As I wrote, I did note the application item in Octave's tree.
I've just installed 3.9.0+; afterwards no sign of a new menu entry for
Octave-3.9.0+ anywhere in the menu. Loggin off/on made no difference.
My system: Mageia-2 w. KDE.
BTW I installed in /usr/local/ (as root or sudo)
