Great, thanks for verifying that it works in KDE when you do a full install
:)

I'm sure when 4.0 comes out with the GUI fully supported we will either have
two separate launchers or simply make the launcher run the GUI
unconditionally.

We'll have to wait for OP to respond to see if something different is going on
there.
