Hi,
Of course the protocol will not be too generic, because for this there is
already vnc. I was thinking of something designed for 2D games such as glob2.
But at that point I don't see anything that would prevent making, for
intance, a 2D zelda-like mmorpg with the same system.
For the GUI, I was thinking at something quite similar to html forms, but much
more game oriented.
On the transport side, I agree that tcp brings latency. I wouldn't having
having UDP downstream for non-critical datas, but I still vote for TCP
upstream so that we do not have this NAT/forewall problem any more.
