Of course it's true - I have a stable-stable - posted on 
http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/fmsystem/

The latest one I am using for full scale production is the 0.9.17.003

An other good joke was the commit message for the actual change:

I'm very grateful for your kind offer - and I will definitely look into the 
matter - but for the time being - the priorities won't permit work along those 
lines.
I think we will have it fixed by the time the Russians arrive the project - in 
September.

So please don't wait - the Resight project will try to catch up later.
