If a person really wants to try and wedge Redhat RPMs on to a
Suse machine, I really urge them to do the latter instead.

Per #2, indeed, the Redhat 6 RPMs will have /usr compiled-in.  
Note that they aren't *intended* to work on Suse.  The word
"RPM" does not imply "Redhat compatible".

Per #3, that is probably necessary to quiet rpath things in the Swarm
Makefiles.
