I reiterate my plea for a complete test case. Ideally, this means a
single file that has a main () and the minimal amount of code to
reproduce the problem. The most convenient and robust way to package
this is to make a subdirectory and then use the usual Makefile.appl
build procedures. Then tar it up and mail it to me. If you're an
Emacs user, encoding a compile-command as a local variable is fine, too.

Alternatively, I may be able to help given the whole app, but I'll
need precise, reproducable instructions on how to reproduce the
undesirable behavior.

I think I have identified one potential color-related problem on
Windows, but I can't be sure the solution is the solution to your problem.

Sorry, I can't afford to extrapolate multiple worst-case scenarios
from excerpts of user code. I don't have that kind of time budget.

It is easier to divide and conquer from a *thing* than it is to do
e-mail tomography, or synthesize the thing you seem to be describing.

In order to make it certain that I can help investigate your problem, I
either need the *factual relevant context* (not what you think ought
to be the context), or the whole app.
