Hello Michael,

I added Fabrice to the loop, Fabrice is my admin. on the Linux server.

the host runs Linux under RedHat.

> uname -sr
Linux 2.6.18-308.13.1.el5

And here is what I got after removing all the dot-files.

c:\Emacs> plink -l jeg002  -ssh actul01 && exit || exit
 plink -l jeg002  -ssh actul01 && exit || exit

-bash-3.2$ exec env ENV='' PROMPT_COMMAND='' PS1="#$ " PS2='' PS3=''
/bin/sh
exec env ENV='' PROMPT_COMMAND='' PS1="#$ " PS2='' PS3='' /bin/sh
#$
#$ PS1="#$ "
PS1="#$ "
#$
#$

For the shell, if I run:

bash-3.2$ echo $SHELL
/bin/bash
