Of course. Since we won't change resolution anymore (I tell you all in
advance I'm AGAINST switching to 1024x768 ;)) we must be able to at
least convert the mapobjects from a version to another. The best being
total backward compatibility, but at the very least a script that runs a
converter on all the mapobjects will be handy too.

Most features will be available in the next mapengine. At least the
pixel by pixel movments. Jumping will then be quite an easy thing,
nothing to worry about that. Slopes are giving me a harder challenge
(especially because they cannot be anything else than a link between two
layers). I still want to have them working, but I don't know whether
they will be immediatly implemented. We can discuss about them if you
want, especially about the implementation details. This part will be a
tough one.

The weather will not be controlled by the map engine itself, but the map
engine must implement an interface to allow the main engine to tell it
which time/weather it currently is. This can easily be added after a
base map system, without any compatibility issue.

More generally, when developping you start with a basic thing, which (if
done correctly) will allow you to extend it. So a detailled wishlist
isn't really necessary, and anyway I still have in mind all the details
we discussed in August, so no worries about that :) Which doesn't mean
you have to wait before submitting a new idea :) I mean, I can maintain
a TODO list to be sure I don't forget anything.

Well, your imagination often scares me but your ideas always end to be
good, so keep your mouth open! ;) (beware not to swallow bees, though)

Alex.
