I am getting a similar almost identical error to Dominique Alessandri

I am using a Sony DRU-500A with firmware 1.0g, which is the latest firmware
as of today.  I also have tried it with firmware 1.0e in the past.

My full results with dvdrecord are at the bottom of the email.

1. dvdrecord fails :(

2. cdrecord-ProDVD worked successfully.

3. growisofs worked successfully.  This is from the dvd+rw-tools package.

I would like to help get dvdrecord working and would be willing to do some
testing.  If there is any testing or debugging I could do to help I would be
willing to try.
