Follow-up Comment #18, bug #19157 (project lwip):

Adding SO_LINGER (with default off) is ok for me. In that way, unsent data is
purged on close by default, which seems to be what opengroup.org wants to say.
I would stick to this standard instead of Microsoft, if only to be portable...
