Could you setup multiple instances of phpGroupware in different directories,
with different databases? I have run multiple versions of phpGroupware
this way in the past, it should do what you seem to want to do, I think.

well the only other obvious(to me anyway) solution is to use something 
like VMware and run multiple VMs for everything. in a way that's better 
because they all get their own "system" but it's gonna be more taxing on 
the host OS.
