Ok I found this below to test which app is currently using the sound card:

# /sbin/fuser -v /dev/dsp


But it seems the sound card _isn't_ used by another app, because it prints out 
_no_ message!

So I launched artsd to check if there will be some output after that and it  
was ...

# /sbin/fuser -v /dev/dsp

                     USER        PID ACCESS COMMAND
/dev/dsp             booker    11668 f....  artsd


Some other ideas?
