-d to what program? I thought simulavr.tcl was handling it ok.
Sorry, it was simulavr.tcl. "simulavr.tcl" can't handle "-d" because it is
removed before "simulavr.tcl" can catch it. Try it on a dual screen machine with
 simulavr.tcl -d :0.1 / -d :0.0.

I did an experiment and this does not happen if tclsh is the
"shell" at the top of simulavr.tcl but it does happen it the
"shell" is wish.

Is it becoming wish when you configure?
Or are you doing something by hand.
