I have all your posts to me, and to the Fsfe-uk List, and mine to you, and
the list, since I raised the matter of the AFFS, its membership, its bank
account, and the conduct of its business, functions, and objectives on
Thursday last, (Thu Feb 26 14:07:19 2009). I will ONLY communicate on the
forgoing matters in writing, in order that there is a clear record of the
entire exchange of messages/correspondence, which I will make available to
anyone who can assure me that they are still a paid up member of the AFFS.
It is noted that you have not attempted to make, at my request, what you
described as, "formal responses", to any of the specific questions raised
in my last email message to you, despite your invitation, "Would you like
me to continue this discussion on the existing informal basis, or are you
asking for formal responses?".
I am raising this matter as there seems to be a large amount of other
peoples money being held by the AFFS which you described in your post of
Fri Feb 27 09:50:10 2009, as being in "technically dormancy, but really
it has reached the end of its life. A number of aspects of it basically
turned out to be unworkable, but live and learn I guess...", that amount
was GBP1937.75 in June 2004 and can be expected to have increased by at
least one years subscriptions in the next year, around GBP1300.00, with a
decreasing but unknown subscription income every year since, it, (the
AFFS), has had a shrinking public profile ever since, to the extent that
whilst its existence is still mentioned on the FSFE Associates Web Page,
its own site seems currently unavailable, Google says that it
last "appeared on 20 Feb 2009 09:54:03 GMT."
I, and I am sure the others of us who are still paid up members of the
AFFS, wish to have the questions I asked, answered.
If you were simply unable to cope with the workload of the AFFS there is no
shame in saying so, and handing over all it records to the remaining
members, in order that they can do what they can to either wind it up, or
put it back into operation. However not to give a full and clear statement
of the current position of the AFFS is not an acceptable option.
