Hi Teus,

I tried it and I'm seeing the segfault too.

I suppose it could be some build option, but Macports uses the latest of all libraries, whereas a manual install will use whatever is installed with the OS except for other direct dependents manually installed in preparation for bibledit.  Could it a problem with some later libraries?

Thank you for the information about the crash.

Now there is something weird to the whole picture.

When I installed  bibledit from source on the laptop of Simon, that crash
did not occur. And when Simon did the same on his desktop, he could happily
use  Bibledit.

But when installing through macports, there is a consistent crash.

Is somebody willing to look into the difference?

Since the paths for the installation are different, could there be
something there?
