This would be nice, but it's also very nice that there's not a huge  
lib-dependancy tree to download and compile.

Isn't it more conventional for ./configure to use includes/libraries
it finds in $CFLAGS/$LDFLAGS/etc (or elsewhere in the system), and
have something like a '--use-included-sqlite' setting?
