Sin haber leído el artículo (no tengo demasiado tiempo),
creo que deberías tener en cuenta que podría traducirse
como «Maquillar la lei», teniendo en cuenta que «maquillar»
es uno de los significados del verbo «to make up». Aunque
también se puede usar como «reconciliar», «diseñar», etc.

Sólo quería que lo tengáis en cuenta por si no se os había
ocurrido.
