I understand the feeling of having need for a more organization-wise
identity through mailing lists, as well.

This list is -- as others like it -- a general Free Software
discussion list by the FSF Europe for a certain country, supplementing
the general address@hidden list.

Also it is where the people in the AFFS found themselves and the first
steps towards founding AFFS were taken.

When AFFS was founded and became associate organization of the FSF
Europe, the list was still used for discussion as at the time people
felt creation of another list would be creating duplicity.

Generally, though, I think it would be good to keep an open discussion
channel that is close to the FSF Europe and all its associates. AFFS
is currently the only one, but at some point in the future there may
be others. So closing this list down -- especially since it is now
well-established and switching lists always poses a risk in terms of
killing the discussions -- does not seem useful.

Maybe this list should remain as a general discussion list for all UK
Free Software issues and non-specific to the AFFS and for AFFS
specific issues, two other lists

        * affs-members (address@hidden)
        * affs-announce (address@hidden)

could be set up?

Regards,
Georg
